We think of shorts as research, helping us develop our skills by indulging
our ideas about user interactivity, cycles of time, space, motion
or texture. Shorts can take the form of interactive elements, allowing
the user to manipulate visuals dynamically. Sometimes the shorts can
simply play out a sequence without any interaction required from the
user.
Working continuosly on Shorts allows us to develop our ideas while
extending our skills and investigating new possibilities.
Individual shorts can often have elements of pesonality about them.
They could be coy, disruptive, placid or hectic. They can often take
on traits of the person who created them, reflecting a particular
mind-set or current mood.

Artificial Environments are an interactive media design agency based
in East London

Technical Requirements:
You will need the Flash 5 plug-in, with a minimum monitor resolution
of 800x600. Some of the movies are quite processor intensive and may
require a processor of at least 266MHz/Power Mac.
Future Development:
The development of Shorts will be very iterative and will involve
us adding new ideas as often as possible. From time-to-time we will
be giving away freebies such as screensavers, t-shirts and posters.
