Limu.com - a venture for online and Interactive learning needed a complete visual system/concept and branding for their site. More fundamentally, we answered questions - how can knowledge be packaged visually? - how can we visually attach value to knowledge? - why should I want to buy knowledge? - how can the process of selling, buying and trading knowledge be packaged? AE's key task has been to develop visual and conceptual ideas for a knowledge 'product'. AE developed Limu's online branding, interface design, a wide range of different icons and delivered ready to use HTML templates for a later database integration. A special focus was the design of the classroom - an open arena for online interactive learning a place that is constantly accessible, even between lessons. AE created a whole range of unique LIMU icons - around 40 different icons that will be used on the site and in Limu's offline campaigns. The site needed to be very easy to read - its visuals simple, clear and crisp. The LIMU brand itself is soft and friendly created for a very wide target audience. The predominant colours - blue and green on white - create a fresh and inviting atmosphere. The technical requirements were limited. The site needed to be cross-platform and work on both a wide variety of browsers. Rich text was required for all elements on the page so as to allow for quick translation into the five main European languages, while allowing dynamic feeds from a databse. This required much consideration in the design. |
